Exterior Updates

Pool

The pool was upgraded 2 years ago. Before this, it was unusable. In the Spring of 2024 we installed a new liner, new electrical, new plumbing, new heater, new salt cell, new gas line from the meter, new robot cleaner, and a new concrete pad for all of the pool equipment. A new fence was also installed to comply with local pool laws. The fence was stained to match the deck.

New Roof

Due to a hailstorm in 2024, we had a brand-new roof installed in the Spring of 2025. We installed Timberline Weathered Wood shingles. These shingles come with a Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects. The new color, Weathered Wood, complements the new color of the house much better than the old shingles.

Additional Concrete Driveway

We had a concrete company come in and pour additional sections of the driveway to make it much easier for people to navigate. When we moved in, it was hard to keep vehicles, especially larger vehicles, on the driveway. Now it’s easy for Amazon, FedEx, and UPS trucks to make full turarounds in the circle drive.

Outdoor Buildings

In the backyard, we added a greenhouse for my wife, who loves to plant flowers, shrubs, vegetables, etc. This allowed her to extend the growing season for her plants. We also added a utility shed. This shed is 12x20. It has a full concrete foundation, and the shed is anchored to that slab. It’s used to store the zero-turn mower, lawn equipment, and pool equipment. It’s painted to blend in with the trees.

Tree Removal

We did a decent amount of tree removal when we first moved in. Many of them were dead or diseased, but others were removed to create more grassy areas. This extended the backyard area by about 30-45 feet, depending on the area of the yard, and has allowed more grass to grow since there is great sunlight throughout the yard now.

Additional Parking

We added a space to park our toys on the west side of the property. It’s a gravel parking area where we stored an RV and waverunners. We also extended the gravel parking area next to the driveway to accommodate 4-5 cars. Before this upgrade, there was only space for 3 cars, and they had to be shorter cars, no trucks or SUVs.

New Deck

The old deck was showing its age, so we had a deck company come in and replace the decking and any of the deck framing that needed upgrading. We installed new drink rails and replaced any spindels that needed replacing.

Irrigation System

In the Spring of 2024 we had an irrigation system installed by The Lawn & Sprinkler Guys. It’s been a game-changer when it comes to the health of the grass. It has 6 zones and covers most of the property. Prior to this installation, several areas around the property were mainly dirt.

Golf Simulator Area

Below the deck we installed a full hitting bay for golf. A Rapasodo golf simulator is used in this area. The TV is mounted to the concrete wall and there is a four-season cover for that TV. It’s ended up being one of our kids favorite areas to hang out in.
